W.E. Hoban Company is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team!
The Quality Engineer supports the Company’s Quality Management System by ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers to investigate quality concerns, support new product launches, develop inspection methods, maintain quality documentation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role also provides support for advanced metrology and inspection programming, including the Hexagon portable measuring arm, as business needs require.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support customer quality requirements, including compliance with RoHS, REACH, Proposition 65, and other applicable customer or regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and assist in resolving customer complaints, supplier quality issues, and warranty claims through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Create and maintain inspection plans, quality documentation, and associated inspection data.
- Support measurement programming and inspection activities using metrology equipment, including the Hexagon portable measuring arm and other inspection systems, as needed.
- Assist with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), including documentation, dimensional layouts, and customer submissions.
- Evaluate supplier quality performance and support supplier development initiatives.
- Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Analyze quality data and recommend corrective or preventive actions to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Production to resolve quality concerns and support new product introductions.
- Perform part inspections and dimensional verification as needed to support production and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate quality records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate technical information.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T preferred.
- Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis preferred.
- Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems preferred.
- Experience with IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems preferred.
- Experience with portable measuring arms, vision inspection systems, or other metrology equipment preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred. A bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant manufacturing quality experience will be considered.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday from 7:30am – 4:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
