W.E. Hoban Company is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team!

The Engineering Manager is responsible for driving engineering excellence across all manufacturing facilities and processes. This role ensures that manufacturing processes are clearly defined and documented, process improvements aimed at achieving operational excellence are identified and implemented and cost reduction goals are met. The Engineering Manager will play a critical role in providing technical direction to sales, quality, and operations through strategic engineering initiatives and effective team leadership.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and company priorities.
  • Oversee daily workflows by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and optimizing the use of resources to meet production or departmental objectives.
  • Support employees by offering coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition of strong performance.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to promote employee development, address concerns, and encourage career growth.
  • Identify training needs and partner with Human Resources for ongoing development opportunities.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and supporting hiring decisions in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Conduct performance evaluations annually and guide employees in setting and achieving SMART goals as applicable.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations and disciplinary matters to ensure consistency with company policies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team.
  • Performs initial and ongoing design reviews both internally and externally.
  • Submits a scope of work for each project that identifies budgetary numbers and the goal of each project.
  • Reviews processes to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Works with Operations Manager and Quality Manager in resolving quality issues.
  • Identifies and participates in ISO / IATF related activities.
  • Develops and supports systems and procedures to monitor and manage the quality of performance of outside vendors.
  • Consistently maintains audit readiness through basic applications of process requirements.
  • Provides leadership to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, strategic planning and develop initiatives and measurements to determine organizational improvement.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in 3D modeling and Programming software
  • Thorough understanding of CNC tooling and metals
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required
  • 3-5 years Mechanical Engineer experience preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience required
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF Quality standards and certifications preferred
  • Software experience in Solid Works and Auto Cad preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of the forging process preferred

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm
  • Job Type: Full-time
